biofeedback, specifically electroencephalograph (EEG) biofeedback,
also referred to as neurofeedback. Biofeedback is explained and how it is used to treat various mental health
conditions. Information is also provided about quantitative EEG (qEEG)
and how it can be used as an assessment and prognostic tool in

WHAT IS EEG BIOFEEDBACK?
Electroencephalographic (EEG) biofeedback is a form of biofeedback
in which an individual receives real-time information about his or her
brainwave activity. The person uses this information to alter his or
her brainwaves to achieve healthier brainwave patterns that are
associated with more optimal mental functioning. |
WHAT CONDITIONS ARE TREATED USING EEG BIOFEEDBACK/NEUROTHERAPY?
Neurofeedback is used to treat conditions of the central nervous
system, in which the brain is not functioning at an optimal level.
Some examples of conditions that have been treated using
neurofeedback are: |
